Life with 3 boys

Life has definitely been different lately but a wonderful kind of different. As most of you know it's never been easy for me after having a baby. In the past I've struggled with major post-partum depression for a long period of time. But God is sooo good and my friends and I have been praying fervently since before the birth that the transition would go better this time. It sure has been. Just having Kyle has been such a huge blessing! He's really a great dad and just so sweet with baby Hudson. There's been many a time when I haven't had dinner on the table in time or not at all for that matter and he's been SO sweet about it. He helps me in so many ways and here I am created to be his helpmeet!! Just recently we're starting to get back into family devotions and reading time at the table and it has been so wonderful. In a couple weeks Kyle will be heading down to the Shepherd's conference and staying with our dear friends the Orgills. If any of you want to see him there just email me or give us a call or comment here and maybe somehow you can hook up with him.
Hudson Taylor just had his 6 week check-up with our midwife Charlotte and we found out that he weighs 12.8lbs.!!! He has gained almost 5 lbs. since birth from nursing alone!! That amazes me so much because I was only able to nurse T & T for about 4 weeks before I had to start supplementing. I've just had so much great advice and this amazing nursing tea! I'd be happy to share the recipe with anyone who needs it.
Titus and Timmy absolutely LOVE their new brother. At every prayer they thank the Lord for him. Everyday they want to hold him for about 5 minutes or so. It's been hard for them to learn to be quiet during nap times. It's my fault though because I never bothered teaching them "indoor voices/behavior". In our home you can hear absolutely everything in every room so it's necessary for them to learn to be a little more quiet. I have Hudson on a 3 hour feeding schedule and were working on healthy nap times ... a bit of a challenge sometimes :-) but were getting there. At night he's able to go for 4hrs. now which is a blessing. We're working with the "Preparation for Parenting" book and tapes and they've been so helpful. Also, a sweet lady from our church who has 6 kids has been so gracious with my almost daily phone calls about scheduling. I'm so thankful to God for giving us "older" women in the faith who have experienced so much more than I have at this point. It is such a blessing to glean from her wisdom. Mentors have always played a huge role in my life (since I've been saved) and I've grown and learned so much from them.
Getting dinner on the table has still been difficult at times....and my dear family has been very gracious. Kyle has cooked dinner a few times or we've had sandwiches instead of a hot meal. Lord-willing we'll get back to normal or a "new normal" soon. I'm most looking forward to having people over more often again. I've really missed the fellowship. We've been so blessed with many, delicious meals from our church families. Many gifts of clothing, diapers, toys, and other necessities for baby Hudson. We even got a high chair and a really good baby carrier (Ergo Baby Carrier) because of my bad back. I guess that would be a prayer request. My back REALLY has been bothering me lately and I can barely hold the baby unless I'm sitting down with a back and arm rest...but that's okay since we have both :0)
Thankfully we have been back doing school again for quite some time now. Titus will be starting division soon and Timmy knows all his letter sounds. He knows his numbers through 30 and is learning to write his letters. I've tried to start reading with him but he's just not there yet. Hopefully it'll "click" soon. I'm so thankful that Kyle provides and I can be home with them - we all enjoy it.
The other day Titus was holding Hudson and he didn't know I was close by and I heard him say in a high pitch voice "I just love you cutie-pie, I'm so glad we have you, I looove YOU!" Also, he cannot stand it when we have to let him cry for a while he truly cares about him - very sweet. Timmy also, he loves to lay on the floor with Hudson and and "play" with him.
Well, this has taken me almost a whole day and I'm going to wrap it up now. Truly -I am one very blessed momma! :-)

When a Picture Just Isn't Enough said...

I have been praying for you, my friend, and I'm so happy to know that things are going so well! :) The boys are so precious with Hudson - though I am not surprised, because they are simply precious boys! :)

I am SO excited that you got the ERGO! Isn't it wonderful?!? It is my favorite carrier ever and it was a huge blessing to us. I need to figure out how to use it in the back and side positions, though Elise is such a busy, active toddler now that I don't know if she would be thrilled to be in it anymore, LOL. She thinks that she is the same age as Emma. ;-P

I miss you! I need to call you, and the days fly by before I get a chance to get to the phone. I will keep trying to make it work!
