Merry Christmas

Dear Family and Friends,

It has been another year filled with God's goodness toward us and Him growing us to look more and more like Jesus.
Some highlights of our year include all the birthdays we got to celebrate 4 of which were in January. We went bowling and had special dinners, cake, and gifts.
In April we rejoiced over the birth of our little boy, Andrew. He is another happy, smiling, squealing little sunshine whom we all love dearly.
Hudson (6) and Martin (5) are doing much more (home) schooling now and have learned a lot this past year. They are such affectionate and inquisitive little fellows. They love playing cowboys & indians outside along with army. They are Timothy's little shadows and help him get wood and chop kindling for our fire almost daily. It's fascinating to watch them on their journey of building a world view. Their favorite toys are legos and playmobil right now. We are so blessed to call them our children.
Nora turned 3 this past May and loves to be with Mama. She's my little helper in so many ways. She's a pro at folding laundry and loves to make pancakes. She's a sweet darling who loves pretty dresses and going out. Recently she's able to color more precisely and tell herself stories while looking at a book. She is also learning to enjoy playing with her sister more which is a real joy to watch!
Louisa (2) is our little "busy bee". The curiosity of this little one is unmatched. "I wonder what would happen if I turn this switch on (while Mama is trying to make bread with the KitchenAid), I want to see what's in the very back of the pantry shelf so let me take everything off the shelf and dump it while I'm at it" :-) Yes, she keeps us on our toes for sure! She has the cutest smile and is such a little mommy. Always carrying a doll or stuffed animal wrapped up in her blanky around with her.
Timothy will be 12 in January, Lord willing. He has grown several inches this past year! He loves reading world history this year for school. Timothy is our entrepreneur and inventor, always coming up with new ideas of starting his own business and making some of the best gifts. For our anniversary he made us a beautiful wood-burned sign "Happy Anniversary, Mama and Papa we love you". Such joy!
Titus is almost 16, how can that be?!?!?!! We were overjoyed to witness his testimony and baptism this past April. He is growing in his love and knowledge of God's Word and  thoroughly enjoys a young men's class on inductive Bible Study through Cornerstone Bible Church. He loves playing his accordion, the piano, trombone, guitar, and occasionally the harmonica. He gets together with friends about once a week to play music - one of the highlights of his week. In his education he enjoys geometry and biology and reading biographies along with government and economics. Titus is hoping to breed his border collie Shasta and start a little breeding business. She's his pride and joy. He's taught her several tricks and she's got a wonderful, happy, somewhat wild personality.
Kyle has been busy working two jobs, one in Seattle and the other here on our addition to our home. He's doing a marvelous job balancing work and family. The children treasure time with him either learning new building skills, playing a game of chess, wrestling, or getting supplies from Home Depot. He takes time to teach us God's Word and encourage us. We are so blessed to call him the leader of our home.
I am learning to get up earlier in order to spend time with the Lord. This is my favorite time of day, when the house is quiet and I can think and prepare for the day ahead - whatever it may hold. I enjoy time with the children together and individually. God is growing me in small and big trials which I am thankful for. I love our church and enjoy having new people over to our home. Homeschooling and housekeeping are a challenge most days but God is faithful to guide and direct me as I lean on Him. Another one of my favorite things is our (almost) weekly at-home-date-night. I love spending time with my best friend and am so thankful that God has brought us together almost 10 years ago.
We are both learning to parent younger and older children and ask you to pray with us that we might be found faithful. May God give us wisdom and grace to be light and salt for Him along with our children.
We, Kyle, Liesy, Titus, Timothy, Hudson, Martin, Nora, Louisa, and Andrew pray that you will seek God with all your heart, knowing that He promises to be found by all who seek Him, and that you will believe in Jesus, the Savior, for Whom we celebrate this time of year.

Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year!

With Love from the Turnbull Family
